MY STORY
My serious fitness journey started in my late 40’s early 50’s and began with my triathlon journey where I have competed in over 20 events and was placing at the top. I moved on to compete in half marathons placing in those events then to complete a marathon with a proud finish. Forwarding my experiences, I became an instructor/coach for a variety of different fitness classes at several gyms. Most recently, my fitness journey has led me to fitness modeling – a dream that I have embraced since a very young age. Dreams do come true - and it is never too late!
I started in my mid-60s competing in fitness shows and it has been quite a journey! To date, I have come home with several trophies and medals which include first, second, and third place. I could not be prouder especially at my age! I let go of my fears to capture my dreams of being on stage competing in fitness shows – age is just a number! The fitness arena has put me in such a great place, at my age I feel better than I’ve ever felt in my entire life, and this includes mind and body. This focus on fitness has changed my life! My motto has always been “Change Is My Friend”. It is never too late to go after your dreams and yes – it may take some changing and maybe even a lot of changing to achieve the goal – is worth it. I realized that today is the day for change! Today is the day to change your world!
Most recently, my fitness journey has led me to pageantry. I am a Queen titleholder for the state of Florida representing Mrs. Classic Universe, Mrs. Florida TCP Elite Universe, and Regional Southeastern Prime Ambassador. I have also captured the title at the Citrus Pageant as Mrs. Blue Jean and won the Best Portofilio plus won the Most Photogenic for the Perfect Pageant, (see attachment for posting). Pageantry has lead me to my platform which is To support women and children who are victims of violence; and lead me to volunteering where I am a volunteer for C.A.R.E. – Center of Abuse and Rape Emergencies; Peace River Botanical Gardens; Ambassador for the American Breast Cancer Society; American Cancer Society.
